A High Wycombe school won a girl's football tournament winning the final in a penalty shootout.
Eight schools from across England came to Wimbledon to compete in the first Chatsworth Schools under-11 girls football tournament.
Taking place at Hall School Wimbledon (HSW), Crown House School based at Bassetsbury Manor reached the final.
The final came down to penalties with the High Wycombe school triumphing after two saves from the Crown House goalkeeper.
At the end of the event, Andrew Hammond, headteacher of HSW, and football journalist Alex Stewart handed out prizes and certificates to every player.
Sarah Hobby, the headteacher of Crown House, said “I am so proud of the Crown House U11 football team and the whole of Crown House for all the support they have shown the team in the run-up and aftermath of this fantastic event.
"The event was a wonderful experience for the Crown House players to meet their counterparts from the other schools in the Chatsworth Schools family, demonstrate teamwork and have some fun!”
Alex Stewart, head of content for Analytics FC, said “I was delighted to have the opportunity to watch Chatsworth School’s first-ever girls football tournament.
"The event was a real testament to Chatsworth School’s commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and fostering enthusiastic excellence.
"Girls who had barely, if ever, played football before were clearly empowered by the experience and they will be able to look back in pride at the role they played in the inaugural Chatsworth Schools football tournament.”
