A gun has been fired at a car following a crash on a road in High Wycombe.
At around 12.40am today (October 8), a BMW 1 series and a Vauxhall Astra were involved in a crash in Chairborough Road.
A firearm was then reportedly fired at the BMW, with those inside the vehicle remaining uninjured.
Officers have said that this is not linked to a fatal crash that occurred in Cressex Road at the junction with Coronation Road around the same time.
Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Quoc Vo, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish what happened and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please get in touch.
“We’d also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cams and were in the local area around the time of the incident to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could assist with the investigation.
“There is currently a scenewatch in place as we carry out our investigation and so there will be an increased police presence in the local area. We would like to reassure the community that this appears to be an isolated incident but please feel free to approach our officers with any questions or concerns.
“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43220451617.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.”
