A campaign to find parents for the children waiting longest to be adopted has been launched by Buckinghamshire Council.
Help Them Shine was launched to find families for children who can provide them with a loving envrionment so they reach their full potential.
Some children may have to wait longer because they are a little older, have brothers and sisters who need to stay together, have additional needs because of significant developmental delays in many areas or area non-white ethnic heritage.
You can adopt as a couple or as a single person.
Anita Cranmer, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “These children in our care that wait longer to find a loving family have so much potential, and although they may have had a difficult start, they have their lives before them. They are waiting to find the right family so that they can grow and flourish. Could you be that family?
“Although it is incredibly rewarding, being a parent has its challenges too, which is why Buckinghamshire Council’s Adoption Service provides post-adoption support that will always be there for you.
“If you feel that you can give these children their new family life and Help Them Shine, don’t hesitate to find out more about how you can start your adoption journey.”
