The Marlow Carnival returned to Higginson Park last weekend.

The carnival was rescheduled from its original date following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The carnival was due to take place on September 17 but the organisers took the decision to postpone the event as the nation went into mourning.

The organisers said it was "not appropriate" for the carnival to take place at that time.

However, it went ahead last Saturday (October 1) as the local community came out in "great numbers" to support the event.

There were a number of stalls from local groups and traders as well as a mini funfair and swingboats which proved very popular with the children.

Magic act, Benjamin Hasker had three packed shows whilst on the main stage there was great music and entertainment from 12pm until 4.30pm.

Music came from locals acts Saint Avian, Nora Mac, Dave Dunbar and Hudson’s Choice.

Food and drinks were on offer from local suppliers such as Rebellion Brewery and Chives who recently opened up a cafe in Globe Park.

Children were also entertained by the amazing display of birds from Berkshire Birds of Prey, and they could also do their own pottery decorating with the kiln shed.

The Oasis Bereavement Fund from Flackwell Heath manned the tea tent were the cakes proved in demand again.

With the superb help of Marlow FM even those that couldn’t get to the park could still enjoy all the music from the live shows they ran all afternoon from the park.
