The decision to reinstate a High Wycombe bus service was made after an uproar from local residents.
A u-turn was made after Arriva announced it would be cancelling service 41 which travels to and from Great Missenden and High Wycombe.
Buckinghamshire Council has now agreed to fund the service on an "interim basis" whilst they look for "long term solutions".
The service goes through Prestwood, Great Kingshill, Widmer End, Hazlemere, and past Royal Grammar School before going through High Wycombe and up to the schools on Marlow Hill.
After the news of the cancellation, Steven Pringle took to Facebook believing there should have been a consultation on the decision as others shared in his anger.
He told the Bucks Free Press: "I regularly use it to travel to Prestwood to see family.
"I don't have a driving license and I am registered disabled.
"So this service is the only means to reach Prestwood for me.
"With cost of living it is just not feasible to pay for taxis to and from Wycombe."
His post on Facebook read: "This is a joke right??? How can you cut a service that is important for so many people for work, school and many other things.
"This is classed as a rural route and the government made extra money available to protect such services."
Ellen Hawes responded: "This is an important service and needs to stay - if you are contacting the council is it worth collecting supportive signatories and setting up a petition to save this service?"
Since then, an update on the Arriva website reads: "Buckinghamshire Council have stepped in to fund the continued operation of this service on an interim basis while they continue working with bus operators on a long term solution that is financially sustainable and appropriate to post-pandemic levels of demand.
"There will therefore be no change to the route or timetable at this point."
