A GoFundMe page has been set up to support several Chesham United players who have recently received serious and long-term injuries.

This comes after their midfielder Jake Peck suffered a horrific leg and ankle break in their last home game against Merthyr Town on September 24.

The injury was so severe that the contest was called off after just 19 minutes.

He was eventually taken to hospital where he was given emergency surgery, with the player set to miss the remainder of the current season and beyond.

To support the 22-year-old, who also works as a self-employed delivery driver, the page has been created to support the former Luton player as he continues his recovery.

The page, which was created on September 29, has seen £1,475 raised.

Its target is to reach £5,000.

The fundraiser reads: “Our supporters will know that recently our squad has suffered some serious long-term injuries, resulting in significant medical bills and loss of earnings.

“Mostly recently, Jake Peck suffered a double leg break in the game against Merthyr Town had his operation over the weekend and now is recovering at home and, unfortunately, is unlikely to be able to work as a self-employed delivery driver for the coming months while his recovery starts

“This GoFundMe page has been set up after players and fans have asked how they can contribute to help the injured lads.

"We hope that this platform will allow those who want to donate to help them cover some of the loss of earnings and medical costs they will be experiencing to get back on the field.
