A FRIGHTENING attack took place on Friday night as people left Trilogy nightclub in the town centre.
Police received reports of a man falling and hitting his head on the floor after being punched in the head.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital. He has now been discharged.
Police believe the victim, a man in his 40s, was involved in a fight with two other men outside Metro Bank in Eden Walk, High Wycombe.

Officers were called at around 3.20am on Friday, Septemebr 23 and believe they were out clubbing.
One of the attackers is described as a white man, of slim build, with short blonde or brown curly hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt and a black jumper tied around his shoulders with dark trousers and white trainers.
The other offender is described as a black man, of muscular build, with short braided hair. He was wearing a dark green top with the number 23 on the back and jeans.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Christian Meichsner, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please come forward.
“We believe that a number of people who had come from Trinity nightclub may have seen what happened and we would ask for them to get in touch.
