A man who stole a taxi in Buckinghamshire has been jailed.
John Fitzgerald, 34, of Argyle Avenue in Aylesbury, has been locked away for 14 weeks.
On September 8, in Aylesbury, Fitzgerald stole the black cab, valued at around £1,000 from its owner.
While he was driving the vehicle, the thief committed two further offences by driving while uninsured and driving while disqualified.
At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on September 9, Fitzgerald pleaded guilty to charges of theft of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
Due to the severity of the offence, as well as the defendant's "flagrant disregard" for past court orders, the justices felt the only appropriate course of action was immediate custody.
On top of jail time, Fitzgerald was also banned from driving for two years and told to pay £154 costs.
