Wetherspoons have submitted major plans to transform a clothes shop into a new pub in the centre of Marlow.
The pub chain's proposal will see the M&Co store at 3 Market Square be turned into The Brass Thimble.
Founded and owned by Tim Martin, Wetherspoons bought the site back in March for a rumoured £3.5 million fee.
The proposals suggest that the pub would create proximately 50 to 60 full and part-time jobs and “be beneficial to the vitality and viability of the town centre”.
The proposed opening hours are 7am to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 7am to 1am Friday and Saturday.
The plans would also see a beer garden placed at the back of the pub which would close at 11pm daily.
In addition to this, the proposals say the pub use will remain open for an additional hour on Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and all Sundays before a bank holiday.
The kitchen would operate between 8am and 11pm daily.
The planning application seeks permission for a first-floor extension with the basic floor plan being retained with a bar being installed in a central spot within the building.
In the area currently occupied by parking spaces, a new external terraced seating area will be formed with a small covered pergola in the beer garden.
The existing mezzanine level will be utilised to provide staff facilities and kitchen storage area.
A new first floor area will be formed towards the front part of the building on top of the existing flat roof area to provide customer toilets, a plant area and a boiler room.
Under that plans, the existing first floor part of the building occupied by GMTW Architects will remain unaffected.
