The Entertainer’s Beaconsfield store is set to close its doors after 35 years on the high street.
The Beaconsfield store, which opened in 1985, was The Entertainer’s second store to open in the UK. The shop has been a staple of the local high street and has welcomed thousands of customers over the past three decades.
Now the Penn Road store is set to close on Saturday September 24 for the last time.
Chairman and founder of The Entertainer Gary Grant said: “The opening of the Beaconsfield shop is a fantastic memory and a key part of our history.

"Being our second store to open in the country, it helped us to establish our brand and grow to become the largest independent toy retailer in the UK.
“In fact, three of the original employees still play key roles within our business today.
“We’d like to thank our staff and customers for their invaluable service, support and loyalty over the past three decades.
"It’s no secret that shopping habits have changed over the past few years, and it is with great sadness that we announce the closure of this shop, which has been part of the local community for many years.
“We’re in conversations with our Beaconsfield store team about roles in other stores and head office and will work closely with them so we can continue to work together.”
When the toy heaven opened, their mission was to become the best loved toyshop “one child, one community at a time,” Mr Grant said.
Over the years, the selection of toys filled generations of children with joy.
He added: “So, although the doors to the shop are set to close, we’d like to celebrate our loyal staff, shoppers, and everything the store has achieved since 1985.”
The Entertainer Amersham remains open and customers can continue to shop online at www.TheToyShop.com for delivery and click and collect.
