It was another unique day of FA Cup action in Chesham last week.
The Generals took on Bracknell Town in their FA Cup second qualifying round match at the Meadow on September 16, which was filled with drama before a whistle was even blown.
Ahead of kick-off, both clubs and sets of fans observed a minute’s silence for Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on September 8, before singing the national anthem.
At #FACup tonight Chesham Utd only had a recording of National Anthem with 'Queen' in it, so the tannoy announcer decided to do his own version to ensure 'King' was sung. Well that worked out perfectly! 🤣 pic.twitter.com/qySkIg6sEV

There was one issue, however…the club were about to play ‘God the Save the Queen’, rather than ‘King’, so Chesham’s tannoy announcer decided to take action into his own hands.

He preceeded to sing his own rendition of the national anthem over the megaphone, with the video becoming a viral hit on Twitter.
At the time of writing, it has accumulated 337,000 views on the site, with it being ‘liked’ nearly 5,000 times.
The game itself was a spectacle as Bracknell took the lead on 57 minutes through a Jordan Espirit penalty.

But in the final quarter of an hour, Chesham substitute Karl Olyide bagged himself a five-minute brace and it looked like the Buckinghamshire side were heading into the next round of the competition.

A day after the match (Saturday, September 17), the Meadow enjoyed a sell out crowd as entertainer, musician, and television presenter Alex Horne took his Taskmaster Gathering show to the stadium.
Thanks to everyone who came to the #taskmastergathering yesterday; you were fun & generous. Thanks to my silly special guests, all the TM team who gave up their Saturdays, & all at @cheshamutdfc who did likewise so willingly. Lots of money raised for great causes. Nonsense day! pic.twitter.com/Upe6mqe1aQ

Over 1,000 people attended with the event being much appreciated by the crowd.
