Former Royal Grammar School student Christian Wade has made a comeback to rugby union after four years away from the game.
Wade, 31, has penned a one-year deal with the French club Racing 92 after appearing for the outfit during their sevens tournament last month.

He moves back to the sport following a three-year stint with the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL), where he became known for scoring a 65-yard touchdown on his debut against the Indianapolis Colt.

When asked by the press if he knew any French, Wade revealed that learning the language at the Wycombe school was βcompulsoryβ and that he knows βa lot of vocabulary - it was just about stringing them together in sentences.β
He then jokingly boasted of his language skills by saying some of the French words he knew as he sat next to the club's media representative.

His previous rugby club was Wasps, where he spent seven years with the Coventry-based side between 2011 and 2018.

Prior to his move to France, Wade returned to his old stomping ground in High Wycombe at RGS (Royal Grammar School), to take part in a three-day training course to help children between the ages of 11-18 how to play rugby.
