Hammersley Lane will be closed for the next week due to "emergency" roadworks.
The road was closed off this morning (September 15) at 10:11am after a suspected gas leak.
Gas network, Cadent is currently working on the "utility repair and maintenance works".
According to the one.network website, the road will remain closed until 23:59pm on September 22.
The well-used road off London Road connects High Wycombe and Penn and Tylers Green.
A statement from Cadent reads: "If you have a safety concern about our equipment (e.g. barriers, signs or cones), please call a member of the team on null.
"Smell Gas? Call 0800 111 999."
