Amersham Band entertained crowds at its picturesque German twin town for a weekend of music, wine and friendship.
Last weekend, the band proudly represented Buckinghamshire at Bensheim, the official Amersham twin town of around 40,000 residents 35 miles south of Frankfurt.
During the festivities hosted by the twinning association Freundeskreis Bensheim-Amersham, the band performed across the town.
Fred Harrison, chairman of Amersham Band, said: “Since 1979, the band has made regular visits to Amersham’s twin town, Bensheim, to help celebrate their annual Winzerfest wine festival.

"However, we have not been able to make the trip since our last visit in 2019, due to coronavirus restrictions.
“There are many highlights of the trip including performing in a joint concert together with the local KKMV Fehlheim band to an enthusiastic audience in the local theatre. Our street concerts are also delight local people; passers-by stop their errands and shopping for a while and a large crowd gathers.
“We also played at the formal Winzerfest opening ceremony, where civic leaders, wine growers and local residents gather to start the weeks celebrations.
"A particular highlight for the band is to march in the Winzerfest parade – this year there were over 80 floats, trailers and bands with tens of thousands of cheering people lining the route.”
