REVEALED: The five most dangerous streets in High Wycombe

Statistics released by Thames Valley Police for June – the most recent figures available - show that 368 crimes were reported in the town, the most so far this year.

In comparison, 359 offences were recorded in May.

Breaking down where each reported offence took place, we have worked out which of High Wycombe’s streets you should do your best to avoid.

5. Church Square – 9

The street with the fifth most reported crimes in High Wycombe in June, Church Square saw a variety of recorded offences.

These included public order (three), anti-social behaviour (one), other theft (one), robbery (one), shoplifting (one), theft from a person (one), and violence and sexual offences (one).

Offences categorised as ‘other theft’ can include blackmail, making off without payment or theft by employee.

4. Bridge Street  – 12

The next street, on the other side of the town centre, is Bridge Street

Along this stretch of road, home to several restaurants and takeaways, 12 offences were reported.

These included shoplifting (four), violence and sexual offences (three), anti-social behaviour (one), bicycle theft (one), other theft (one), possession of weapons (one) and public order offences (one).

3. Oxford Street – 12

Also registering 12 reported offences in June, Oxford Street is another that makes this list for June 2022.

The most recorded offending was violence and sexual offences (four). These can include reports of assault, grievous bodily harm and sexual assault.

Other reported offending included other theft (two), shoplifting (two), anti-social behaviour (one), criminal damage and arson (one), public order offences (one), and robbery (one).

2. Paul’s Row - 13

A regular feature on ‘most dangerous’ lists, Paul’s Row had the joint-most number of reported offences in June.

Home to several popular bars and restaurants, its prominence in the town’s night-time economy may be partly responsible for the number of offences.

Reported crimes included violence and sexual offences (five), shoplifting (three), public order (two), anti-social behaviour (one), other theft (one) and theft from a person (one).

1. Queen Victoria Road – 13

Another street that appears regularly on these lists is Queen Victoria Road.

Home to High Wycombe Police Station, it is another part of the town that sees plenty of reported offending.
