Bus operator Arriva will be operating with a limited service in Buckinghamshire as 900 workers strike – here is everything you need to know.
There will be disruptions across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire during the strikes taking place today (September 5) and tomorrow (September 6).
Unite regional officer Jeff Hodge has pinned the action on Arriva for offering “a pay cut disguised as a rise”.
Will routes still be running?
Arriva says there will still be a limited service on its routes in certain Bucks areas. This includes:
Aylesbury– limited school only journeys on services 150, 250, 280, and 500.
150 – 06:50 Central Milton Keynes to Aylesbury, Henry Floyd School
150 – 15:40 Oxford Road, Churchill Ave to Central Milton Keynes
250 – 07:17 Heath + Reach, Sheepcote Crescent to Aylesbury, Tring Road Tesco

280 – 06:50 Aylesbury Bus Station to Oxford Railway Station

Some may wish to make use of Buckinghamshire's on-demand minibus service during this time – however Arriva says that it will not be available during the strikes.
What has Arriva said?
Arriva has stated it “remains committed” to resolving the strike and continues to encourage Unite to ballot on the latest pay offer.
A statement reads: “We will continue to keep our customers and stakeholders updated, we apologise for the inconvenience this will cause across the region, particularly as our schools return for a new academic year.”
