A drink driving delivery driver has been jailed after he had to be stopped by members of the public while he was on the job.
Robert Angel, 47, of The Bramblings, Amersham, has been locked up for 12 weeks after he pleaded guilty to a charge of drink driving.
At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on August 15, the court heard how Angel was working as a delivery driver on April 9 while he was over the legal limit.
The driver was operating a Mercedes Sprinter van in Watchet Lane, Holmer Green, when he was witnessed driving in an "impaired" way and had to be stopped by members of the public.
When police arrived and tested his alcohol levels, he gave a reading of 299 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.
After hearing the evidence, the magistrates gave Angel an immediate custodial sentence due to the severity of the offence.
He was also given a 32-month disqualification, and ordered to pay £128 in costs.
