A stolen car has been seized by police after officers found it abandoned on the M40.
A patrol unit travelling along the M40 in Beaconsfield noticed the unattended Smart car that had been left in the hard shoulder yesterday (Monday).
After running checks on the vehicle, officers discovered that it had been recently reported stolen from the Surrey area.
Officers slammed the "not very 'smart'" culprit who had dumped the vehicle after running out of fuel.
The car has now been seized and is being looked at by forensic investigators before it is returned to its owner.
