THE fate of High Wycombe university's latest building scheme will be decided shortly.
Councillors are considering Buckinghamshire New University's proposals to build a 672-room student complex should be passed.
Wycombe District Council officers recommend the plans be passed.
This is as long as the university agrees to certain conditions such as a restriction on car ownership within the complex.
The plans for the town centre complex have been "significantly" amended as report by officers states.
Dozens of residents complained about the original design of an eight-storey tower block for the Compair factory site in Hughenden Avenue, High Wycombe.
The complex has now been split into 11 blocks, which will stand at a maximum height of seven-storeys, and be built round two courtyards.
Room numbers have also been slashed from 936 to the proposed 672.
Naphill and Walters Ash Residents Association the Chiltern Society and the High Wycombe Society are among the organisations objecting to the plans.
The plans are being discussed the council's development control committee.
