THE RATE of council tax in the Chiltern district is set to be confirmed at a meeting this evening.
A four per cent rise in council tax was suggested last month to pay for services, to compensate for what Chiltern district councillors have described as the "worst financial settlement for local government in a decade".
Chiltern District Council is set to take an average of £149.77 from each taxpayer as their cut of the council tax next year.
That would mean an average household in the district would now pay £2.88 per week in district council tax.
