A cyclist has been fined for riding “dangerously” in Buckinghamshire.
Jack Lang, aged 25, has been fined £440 after he was found guilty of a charge of dangerous cycling at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court.
At the hearing on August 4, the court heard how Lang, of Trinity Road in Old Wolverton, was caught riding a bicycle dangerously in Hardwick Road, Woburn Sands, on February 5.
Lang did not enter a plea, but was found guilty of the offence at the hearing.
According to the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, cycling is considered to be dangerous if the standard of riding “falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful cyclist.”
According to the legislation, dangerous refers to a danger of injury to a person or serious damage to property.
After hearing the evidence, the magistrates fined Lang £440 and ordered him to pay £154 in costs.
