There have been five cases of Monkey Pox reported in Buckinghamshire this month.
The UK Health Security Agency has published its latest epidemiological overview for the outbreak on August 15.
In a map created to show the concentration of cases, it can be seen that reports are highest when a specific area is densely populated.
Up to 15 August 2022, there were 3,081 confirmed and 114 highly probable monkeypox cases in the UK: 3,195 in total.
Of these, 75 were in Scotland, 27 were in Northern Ireland, 43 were in Wales and 3,050 were in England.
Health officials have said that new cases appear to be reducing with just 20 people a day becoming infected.
With a population of 553,100 Buckinghamshire has recorded 5 cases making the case rate 0.01 per thousand.
Nearby, Reading has the highest rate in Berkshire with 14 cases in a population of 174,200.
10 cases were reported in Slough in this month’s overview. This makes the case rate 0.06 per thousand with the population of 158,500.
West Berkshire, Windsor and Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest have all been found to each have ‘less than five’ cases reported.
The areas where case numbers are given as ‘less than five’, the rate is calculated assuming 2.5 cases.
