A much-waited second hand shop in Amersham town centre announced its official opening date.
The Amersham Owned - store, ran by The Hospice of St Francis, welcomed its first customers in July as part of the charity shop’s soft opening.
With the efforts of its doctors and nurses, The Hospice helps 2,000 seriously ill people and their loved ones in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
Since its soft opening a month ago, the store selling a range of pre-loved clothes, home wear and furniture, gift items, records and books has “received a warm welcome,” said Emily Mayo from the Hospice.
Kate Phipps-Wiltshire, the Hospice CEO, said: "A Hospice is a gift the community gives to itself. Amersham Owned showcases that and brings the unique joy of charity retail to a place where people get care from The Hospice of St Francis.

Ahead of its opening, the shop announced it was welcoming donations from the public, including pick-up for bulkier items.
Before the official opening on Friday September 23, the store's summer opening hours are Thursday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm, whilst the operation beds in.
From end of September onwards, Amersham Owned on 23 Woodside Road will be open six days a week Monday to Saturday.
Ms Phipps-Wiltshire added: "Sustainability is at the heart of our trading ethos. Amersham Owned is a fabulous place to be, to shop and in a new development a place that people will be able to see our staff for assessment and care.
"A huge thank you Amersham, in our sneak-a-peek preview event and our summer opening your welcome and support has been amazing.”
