Photos taken from the weekend show an entire field burnt to a crisp as Wendover Woods evacuated.
On Saturday afternoon (August 13) emergency services were called to a field fire near the popular woods on Hale Lane.
Thames Valley Police warned residents to avoid the area at 4:4opm while fire crews dealt with the blaze.
Firefighters stayed on the scene overnight and into the following day to monitor "deep seated areas" of the fire.
Police officers continued to keep the road closed until Sunday morning as firefighters remained on site.
A Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "The fire 'jumped' a road and was spreading through multiple fields and up the hill.
"Wendover Woods was evacuated as a precaution, and a tractor with a plough was used to create a fire break between the fields and woods.
"Thames Valley Police were also in attendance.
"Around 30 hectares of stubble was 100 per cent damaged by fire.
"Local farmers provided assistance with creating fire breaks and applying water.
"Scaling back of the incident started just after 6pm on Saturday (August 13).
"Firefighters remained on the scene overnight and into the following day, turning over and damping down, monitoring deep seated areas of fire and tackling any emerging hotspots."
A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: "Thames Valley Police and Bucks Fire are on scene at Hale Lane, Wendover where some fields are alight.
"Bucks Fire are working to extinguish the fire and minimise risk.
"Please help us by avoiding the area this evening."
Hayley O’Keeffe from the Animal News Agency, who provided photos of the damaged fields, said: "You could see the smoke coming up from behind the woods close to where we live, and at first we thought it was the car park at the top.
"The smoke smell was strong for a few hours.
"We didn’t see the fire when it happened but went there the morning after. The road had only just opened.
"The fire had jumped across the road and set a second field on fire too with very similar results."
