TODAY is your last chance to have your say about plans to convert on-street parking to pay and display areas throughout the Chilterns.
Chiltern District Council has pinpointed 26 areas, in Amersham, Chesham, the Chalfonts and Prestwood, where they are considering introducing pay and display areas.
The council says the main reason for the proposal is it would make parking enforcement easier -and they had received several requests asking for these changes to be made.
Gill Gowing, Chiltern District Council's director for planning and the environment, said the council had received positive feedback from residents after a previous decision to convert parking bays to pay and display areas.
The converted bays in Whielden Street reportedly helped to reduce congestion around Amersham Hospital.
One consideration is to have a limited period of free parking, but Mrs Gowing said it was more likely a minimum charge of 20p would be implemented.
A permit holders only' bay has also been suggested for King George V Road in Amersham.
The consultation period started on January 14, and comments and objections must be received by Chiltern District Council by 5pm today.
