TOM Pochciol, your reporter, should put his arm outwards, rather than upwards, to stop a bus (picture, Page 4, BFP February 15).
The bus driver would be more likely to see Tom's hand in his headlights.
Perhaps small lights could be put on bus stops like the small lights at 45 degrees at zebra crossings.
One hopes the cost be borne by the county council as bus budgets are small and many evening routes depend on county support.
As the relevant cabinet member says, no-one should be discouraged from catching the bus. Some night bus routes never have had lighting. One hazard in walking to the bus stop is cars legally parked in the road without lights where there are 30mph speed limits but no street lighting.
