A SCAM selling fake advertising space has been reported in the county.
Businesses are urged to be cautious if they are approached by companies selling advertising space in wallplanners, particularly if they say they are working in partnership with Bucks Fire and Rescue Service.
The Fire Service has said it does not ring people and ask them to buy advertising space, and has not authorised anyone to do so on its behalf.
Two companies have already been affected by the scam.
Fraser Pearson, communications officer for Bucks Fire and Rescue, said: "These are just the people who have contacted us and we are concerned there are other companies in the Wycombe district who may have been affected.
"We suspect there might be more people this year who haven't been contacted yet but will be."
Last year, two companies in Amersham and Chesham were contacted in a similar scam.
Bucks Fire and Rescue has advised people to take a name and telephone number and ask for any offer to be made in writing, and not to make a commitment or agree to make a payment on the spot without taking time to think about the offer.
If a salesperson says he or she is working with Bucks Fire and Rescue, or the fire or emergency services in general, email the person's or company's name and telephone number, along with details of any offer that has been made, to info@bucksfire.gov.uk.
