A BUS driver has denied causing the death of a grandmother by driving dangerously.
John Anthony Houghton, 56, of Hatters Lane, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court this morning.
He is accused of causing the death of 80-year-old Wladyslawa Polatajko in August last year when his single decker Arriva bus hit her as she crossed a pedestrian crossing Desborough Road. She died later in hospital.
A post mortem into the death of Mrs Polatajko, of Rutland Street, Cressex, concluded she died from a head injury.
A trial has initially been set for April 21 and is expected to last for three or four days.
Mr Houghton has been released on bail in the meantime.
