A SCHOOL in Buckinghamshire has hit back following its ‘inadequate’ Ofsted rating.
Sir William Ramsay School in Hazlemere was recently classed as ‘inadequate’ by the education watchdog following an inspection in June – the lowest rating available for schools.
While the school was downgraded from the previous ‘requires improvement’ rating, Ofsted inspectors did recognise the amount of change the school has seen in the past year.
Following the school’s previous headteacher Christine McLintock’s retirement announcement in May, Paul Ramsey is set to take the reins.

The report said: “Governors and many members of staff have confidence in the new headteacher to make rapid improvements.
“However, recent actions taken by the new headteacher have not yet had enough impact so that all pupils can learn in a calm and safe environment.”
Ofsted was concerned of some pupils' use of racists and homophobic language, and some lacked “respect for each other’s differences.”
Sixth form pupils “are respectful and polite,” Ofsted said.
“They enjoy the well-resourced and cheerful common room that the school has provided for them.”
A School spokesperson said: “The Governing Body and Leadership Team were aware of the issues facing the school but remain very concerned by these judgements.
"Since May the Leadership Team have been working on changes that give greater clarity, consistency and rigour to the behaviour system and improve school life for all students.

“We have also introduced improved policies and practices which encourage reporting and swift resolution of issues related to bullying and harassment.
“The school has developed an action plan which addresses the key areas for improvement identified in the report.
“We aim to ensure that behaviour, safeguarding and leadership will all improve dramatically within a short time and that all students can fully access the curriculum.
“Most importantly we want all students to feel safe and happy whilst making good academic progress and that we move out of this Ofsted category at the earliest opportunity.
