A former nurse who was struck off for secretly filming a woman going to the toilet has been added to the sex offenders register after he was caught creating more indecent images.

Darryl Crofts, 50, has been added to the sex offenders register for five years after he pleaded guilty to two counts of producing indecent images.

The ex-nurse, who was struck off in April 2021, was sentenced today (Friday) at Aylesbury Crown Court.

The court heard how Crofts, of Overn Crescent in Buckingham, produced indecent images on July 24, 2020 and July 8, 2021. Both offences were committed in Buckingham.

After pleading guilty to one count of making category A indecent images and one count of making category B indecent images, he was given a two-year community order and told he must carry out 40 days of rehabilitation activity.

He was also added to the sex offenders register for five years and handed a five-year sexual harm prevention order.

This latest offending is not the first time Crofts has shown similar sexually motivated behaviour.

On October 30, 2019, Crofts was working as a nurse administering vaccinations at Northampton University when he was caught secretly recording a woman using a toilet in the building.

Crofts was caught by the victim when she saw him put his mobile phone under the bathroom stall, with the camera lens pointing towards her.

Although he initially denied wrongdoing, police discovered a two-minute video on the nurses’ phone that proved his guilt.

At Northampton Magistrates’ Court on June 29, 2020, Crofts was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to a charge of observing another person doing a private act without their consent for sexual gratification.

Crofts was handed an 18-month community order for the offence and added to the sex offender’s register.

In June 2021, Crofts was struck off as a registered nurse over the incident.
