HUGE outline plans to build up to 200 homes in Aylesbury have been approved by planning officers.

Fresh plans submitted to demolish garage site for seven flats at 4 Grimsdells Corner, Sycamore Road, Amersham (PL/22/2577/FA).
Developer Thomdell Developments Limited has put forward a scheme for the second time to demolish and redevelop a garage site to erect a three-storey apartment block, holding four one-beds and one two-bedrooms.
It also wants to covert the ground floor of the existing building into two flats holding a one-bed and two-bed. It also proposes two car parking spaces and 10 cycle parking spaces.

Planning officers refused a previous plan for eight flats, believing the scale and the bulk of the building would ‘visually dominate’ the street scene, the site has inadequate car parking, and could impact the Chiltern Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation.
The plans have been revised to remove one flat as well as reduce the size of the building by making design changes.
Planning officers are yet to determine the application.
A vacant shop could be turned into a medical centre at 12, 14, and 14A Furlong Road, Bourne End (22/06817/FUL).
The new owner of the empty store wants to convert it into a medical centre and create consultation and treatment rooms.
The development proposal is to alter the frontage elevation of commercial unit 12 to be more in keeping with a medical centre rather than a glazing company from the previous occupier and improve unit 14 to match and maintain consistency of the architectural treatment.
Only minor alterations and refurbishment is planned for the side and rear elevations but a small section of the rear projecting corner of unit 12 is to be removed.
Staff parking will be soured in local public car parking facilities or public transport will be used. Covered cycle parking will be provided to the rear of the site for all to use.

Developer Aylesbury Vale Estates LLP’s (AVE) scheme took one step closer to fruition to demolish the existing building to erect a mix of one, two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes.
The development is proposed to be a mix of terraced, semi-detached, and detached units with apartments and maisonettes, and the buildings are proposed to be two and three-storeys in height. 25 per cent of the dwellings are proposed to be affordable.
The residential element of the plans is an outline application meaning the council is only considering the scheme’s access plan at this stage where a full planning application will be submitted later.

Over 270 car parking spaces are proposed where each home will have one electric charging point. The site could also have public open space and biodiversity enhancements.
Along with this proposal, AVE gained full planning permission to build employment space of up to 7,500m2. The site will come with 179 car parking bays with disabled spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
