A former America’s Next Top Model contestant has revealed what she loves about High Wycombe after marrying one of the town’s famous sons.

Lisa Wade (nee Ramos) is the wife of former England rugby player and NFL star Christian Wade.

The two have been together for five years and split their time across the Atlantic with their respective careers.

But the 32-year-old, who took part in the 13th series of the competition in 2009, was recently in the south of Buckinghamshire to support her athletic beau at is inaugural Next Gen You rugby camp at the Royal Grammar School in the town.

Speaking to the Free Press, Lisa said: “I like High Wycombe a lot.

“I’ve been here several times as Christian and I have been together for five years, and I like that everyone knows each other, and everyone is very kind.

“It has small town vibes and it’s very comforting.

“I love High Wycombe.

“I did not know about High Wycombe before Christian, but I love the area and he is so proud of where he comes from.”

On her favourite places to visit in the town, she continued: “I Pepe’s Peri Peri.

“We don’t have that over in the US and I prefer that over Nando’s.

“And one of my favourite places to relax in High Wycombe is at my mother-in-law’s house."

Lisa also revealed that Christian is 'incredibly proud' of being from High Wycombe.

The 31-year-old, who was originally born in Slough but moved to south Bucks during his infancy, was brought up in the town and credits residents from the area for helping him get into the sport.

His love for his hometown was one of the main reasons why wanted to hold his first rugby camp at the Royal Grammar School, as this was the school he attended.

The first day of the camp saw around 50 children take part.

Lisa continued: “She added: “He loves telling people he’s from High Wycombe.

“And I’m really happy that all these kids showed up, especially during the summertime as most are on away on vacation.

“But a lot of people have come and I am really proud of my husband for putting this all together in a short period of time.

“He is very hands-on with what he does, and I would never have expected to be involved in a camp and just turn up for 30 minutes.

“He wants to work and mentor the youth and help kids get into the world of rugby and it’s perfect for him.”

The camp will conclude on August 4
