PARENTS from Buckinghamshire who have lost a child have told their story in a book which was launched in the House of Lords last night.
The Child Bereavement Charity, which is based in West Wycombe, produced the book Farewell, My Child', which has the first hand accounts from 25 families who have lost a child.
The launch marks the start of the charity's Mother's Day campaign, which asks people to spare a few moments to remember those whose special day is quite often painful.
The book is dedicated to Liam Logue and Ellen Poll, whose families carried out the fund raising needed to make the book possible.
Ann Chalmers, chief executive of CBC, said, "We have learned how important it is to parents to have the death of their child acknowledged.
"Through reading the moving accounts in this book we can all begin to have a greater understanding of the experiences and feelings of bereaved families.
"It will be an invaluable resource for everyone touched by the death of a child."
The CBC provides specialist support and information to those affected when a child dies or when a child is bereaved.
The book costs £9.99 in February and will cost £14.99 from then on and is available from the charity. If you would like to buy the book or ask for support, call the charity's support line on 01494 446648.
