Shoppers in High Wycombe may want to steer clear of one shopping district in the town after nearly 40 crimes were reported there in a single month.
Data provided by Police.UK shows that in May, 38 crimes were reported at or near the Esso fuelling station in Marlow Road - an average of more than one per day.
In comparison, only one offence was reported in the whole of 2022 before May.
Analysis of the data shows that all of the reported crimes were theft related.

Of all the reported offences, eight were categorised as shoplifting, while 30 were classed as 'other theft'.
According to Police.UK, offences that are classed as other theft can include theft by an employee, blackmail and making off without payment - which is driving off without paying for fuel.
The Police.UK website also lists the outcomes of all the reported crimes - with police unable to prosecute any suspect for all eight of the shoplifting offences.
For the vast majority of the other theft reports, officers were either unable to prosecute or unable to identify a suspect.
Investigations are still live on four of the 30 reports.
The location data provided by Police.UK is approximate and not exact.
