A STRING-playing 'movie star' is to appear in Beaconsfield.
Cellist Caroline Dale played on the soundtrack to Oscar-nominated blockbuster Atonement, starring Keira Knightley and James McAvoy, and is now bringing her performance to Hall Barn in Windsor End.
Caroline is the principal cellist for the English Chamber Orchestra, which recorded the Dario Marianelli score especially for the film. Her performance in Beaconsfield is a preview to the official premiere of Marianelli's score, which is taking place on March 17 at London's Wigmore Hall.
The film, based on the British romance novel by Ian McEwan, has had several Oscar nominations, including Achievement in Music Written for Motion Picture, and has already won a Golden Globe for Best Sound Track.
The Beaconsfield concert takes place on Saturday, March 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20 and include canapes and a glass of wine or soft drink and are available by calling Flora Pedler on 01494 674146, from Beacon Books in Gregories Road or at the door.
