WYCOMBE'S women are being invited to lace up their trainers and join 750,000 ladies in Cancer Research UK's annual Race for Life.
Entries for this year's event have now opened and the charity is urging women to get involved.
This is the sixth time the race has come to High Wycombe and is again taking place on the Rye on Sunday, June 15 from 11am until 3pm.
Race for Life is the UK's largest women-only fundraising event and covers 5km.
Rosannah Dawood, area event manager said: "We hope this is an invitation women can't refuse.
"At Race for Life there are thousands of women of all ages and abilities, shapes and sizes who will motivate and inspire each other to complete the 5k course.
"Many simply walk round, chatting and having fun, but all share and enjoy the incredible sisterhood and spirit on the day.
"Last year's events had an unforgettable atmosphere and we raised an incredible £123,000. This year we are hoping that 3,000 women will sign up to take part in the High Wycombe event, helping us to raise a target of £228,000."
In total there will be 260 events across the country, which are hoped to raise a total of £50 million to fund cancer research.
