ROADWORKS in Chesham were postponed because of the hot weather last week.
Resurfacing works on Chesham’s Pond Park Road were due to start on Friday July 22, but were postponed until July 25, and are estimated to last for five days.
Reason for the delay was the “recent exceptionally hot weather”, a Buckinghamshire Council spokesperson said as they apologised for the delay.
In a letter sent to residents, Transport for Buckinghamshire said: “Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents, although there may be some delay as works pass your property and we apologise for any inconvenience.
“It is vital that vehicles are not parked on the road and/or footway as this will prevent the works from being completed."
Road closures on Pond Park Road between Addison Road and Bellingdon Road will be in operation during the weekday works from 8am to 5pm.
Highfield Road, a cul-de-sac off Pond Park Road, will also be resurfaced as part of the works.
Projects such as the resurfacing works are “extremely weather dependent”, Transport for Bucks said.
Residents living nearby the roadworks were sent a letter about the change.
When the works are completed, residents are welcomed to send their feedback through Transport for Buckinghamshire’s customer satisfaction survey available here.
