A CHILD has been seriously injured in a road accident in Hazlemere this afternoon.
At around 4pm, the youngster was hit by a van near the roundabouts at Hazlemere crossroads on the A404 Amersham Road.
Helen Robinson-Gordon, spokesman for South Central Ambulance Trust, said: "We were called at 4.05pm to the scene. We sent a rapid response vehicle, backed up by an ambulance. The ambulance took a young child through to Stoke Mandeville Hospital with serious injuries."
Police said the child was approximately 12 years old.
Officers closed the road while they conducted their investigation, and traffic was left queuing in both directions.
