A SPECIAL public meeting has been called to try and address residents fears on the safety of the roads in Widmer End.
People in the area have become increasingly concerned with the amount of traffic passing through the village and say people's safety on the roads is being risked.
And Ian Guy, secretary of the Widmer End Residents Association, believes the problem will only get worse if proposed housing developments in surrounding areas takes place.
So the group has arranged a special meeting and has invited representatives from the highways department at Bucks County Council and the village's two members of parliament, Paul Goodman and David Lidington.
Mr Guy hopes lots of people from Widmer End will attend the important meeting.
He said: "We are just hoping that something can be decided or recommendations can be made and the authorities can take on and improve the situation.
"And at the very least we can make the point that we are a little village, not a suburb and we want it to stay that way.
"I think I speak for everybody in Widmer End when I saw that."
Concerns over traffic in the area were increased after 76-year-old cyclist Roy James died after a collision with a van in Brimmers Hill, on January 16.
The meeting will be taking place at Widmer End Combined School, in Escourt Drive, on Thursday, May 8.
