A GENEROUS benefactor has pledged his support for Wycombe Rugby Football Club in the form of a £500 grant.
Richard Pushman, County Councillor for Greater Hughenden donated the money out of his community leadership fund.
He said: "I am delighted to be able to offer some financial assistance to the club and to help those that otherwise might not have the opportunity to play the sport."
The money will be used to train pupils from secondary schools in the area that don't have rugby offered as a main sport on their curriculum.
Glenn Gavin, chairman of the Juniors Club said: "We are all so pleased with Richard's donation. We really want to ensure that when a child arrives at our club wanting to enjoy our game that he is not discouraged by a lack of parental support or by lack of money.
"The money kindly donated by Richard Pushman will go towards a fund solely dedicated to enabling youngsters from families who cannot afford to pay for club subscriptions, boots or other kit, to fully participate in our sport."
