A popular walking challenge across the Chilterns is set to return this autumn after nearly thousand walkers took on the hills last year.
The Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge encourages walkers to put their best foot forward to raise money for Rennie Grove Hospice nursing care, a hospice giving adults and children with a life-limiting illness the choice to live as well as possible at home surrounded by family, friends and the things that matter to them most right until the end of their life.
Hikers taking part in the family and dog friendly challenge on September 11 can choose between different routes through stunning Chilterns countryside.
Tracey Hancock, director of fundraising at Rennie Grove Hospice Care, said: “It’s a fantastic event each year and people who take part always tell us how much they enjoy the stunning scenery, the chance to meet new people and the sense of accomplishment when they complete the walk.
“The funds raised by this event are invaluable in allowing Rennie Grove to continue offering specialist care and support for adults and children with life-limiting illnesses across Buckinghamshire and west Hertfordshire.
“Every penny raised in sponsorship makes a difference.
"For example, £30 could fund an hour of specialist care from a hospice at home nurse, helping patients to stay at home with their families and make every moment matter.”
The route options, now open for signing up, start from Princes Risborough and include a bus ride back after Arriva buses donated the use of its vehicles and volunteer drivers for the day.
The 6.5 mile linear walk tackles Whiteleaf Cross and Coombe Hill, 8 mile self-guided circular route on Whiteleaf Cross, 10 mile linear route with the opportunity to tackle the three peaks - Whiteleaf Cross, Coombe Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon.

As the longest route, the 18-mile linear route takes walkers from Princes Risborough to the top of Ivinghoe Beacon through all three landmarks.
Tickets cost £15 for adults over 16, and £7.50 for children (5-16) with under fiver-year-olds walking for free.
Family tickets for two adults and up to four children for £40 are also available.
Those who conquer the challenge won't go home empty handed, as they will get a medal on the day.
For the past five years, the events headlines sponsor has been Origin Doors and Windows, and this year R.Benson stepped up to also sponsor the annual walk.
