A residential home in Gerrards Cross celebrated its 75th anniversary on Saturday.
Swarthmore Residential Care Home, which is situated on Marsham Lane within the town, provided those living at the establish with a day of activities on July 16 where afternoon strawberry tea, a celebratory cake, music from the Turf Tappers and an old-fashioned tricycle were on show.
Opening its doors for the first time in July 1947, the inaugural residents that moved into the home were a married couple before others eventually settled into the establishment over the next three months.
By December that year, there were 14 people living between eight single bedrooms and three double rooms.
Fast-forward to the present day, the care home has undergone several refurbishment projects and by the autumn, its bedrooms, communal areas, dining areas will be completely transformed.
