The 48th move in a 26-year-old journey.
Jefferson Louis’ career as a professional footballer has taken him to all four corners of the UK and beyond, and at the age of 43, he shows no signs of hanging up his boots.
A respected journeyman in the sport which has seen him play all across the Non League pyramid, and in the Football League for Oxford United, Bristol Rovers, and Mansfield Town respectively, the striker was recently spotted playing for Risborough Rangers in a friendly match against Flackwell Heath at the John Colet School on July 14, which the Reds won 2-0.

It may be another notch on his ever-growing belt following his departure from North Leigh in Oxfordshire, but for the forward, who has also played for other Bucks teams such as Chesham United, Aylesbury United, and Beaconsfield Town respectively, his 60-minute run-out would have meant a lot to him.
This is because he was playing in the red and white of Risborough for the first time in 24 years, as Rangers were the inaugural team of his long career.
Making his debut for the club in 1996, he played 49 league matches and scored 19 league goals across two seasons, before a move to Thame United would start his chain of regular transfers.

A transfer back to his old stomping ground will make it the 48th separate move of his career, and the fifth time he has returned to a previous club.

He has had two spells at Thame United, Woking, Chesham United, Maidenhead United, and now, Risborough Rangers.
In the interview, he spoke about the highs and lows of his career, which included difficult spells at Crawley Town and at Oxford United, due to his relationships with former managers, Steve Evans and Graham Rix.
The stewardship of the two bosses led Louis to depart both teams.
Despite the lows, he said: “I’m just happy with what I achieved.
"I played international football.
"I met my idol in Thierry Henry.
"I’ve been back page in a newspaper.
"That’s what I try and drill into the kids at school.
"Don’t have no regrets."
There we go!!!

His cousin, Richard Pacquette, is also a journeyman as he has played for 38 different teams.
Pacquette’s biggest claim to fame was scoring against Liverpool for Havant & Waterlooville in a fourth round FA Cup tie at Anfield in February 2008.
His header gave the Hampshire side a 1-0 lead before they lost 5-2.
