A popular 300-year-old pub that closed its doors earlier this year is set to reopen next week under new management.
There was sadness in April this year when The George and Dragon in West Wycombe closed its doors because the hotel's owner and head chef Arnaud Stevens had decided to move on.
The announcement of the closure left pub-goers from near and far upset, with one regular saying it was "absolutely horrible news".
The well-loved hotel and pub was a popular spot for tourists visiting historic West Wycombe to stay in and it was rumoured to be haunted, which was a major attraction for paranormal fans desperate to get a glimpse of 'resident ghost' Suki, who was apparently a servant at the pub in the late eighteenth century.
And now, it seems like better days are coming for the pub - as an announcement on their Facebook page says they will be reopening under new management next week after a deep clean and a de-clutter.
"Do you want to hear some good news or great news," the team wrote.
"We will next week be reopening our doors, we are under new ownership, we have a new management team in place and some great ideas in the mix!
"We got the keys on Tuesday to this stunning building and we have already started works to give the old girl a new lease of life… don’t worry nothing to drastic just a major deep clean, decoration and a huge declutter!
"We are now in the process of finalising our new food menu and our drinks range so with that in mind it’s over to you…. What do you want to see on the menu and what do you want to see served on the bar, after all this is your local!
"Our inbox is always open please feel free to message at anytime. We can’t wait to see you all."
The team said they will be taking The George "back to a British pub with a great selection of homemade dishes and locally sourced produce".
The news was well-received by fans on Facebook.
One said: "That’s amazing news. The beautiful old building will be happy again."
Another added: "Fantastic news, can’t wait to come back."
The pub's new team are aiming for it to reopen nex weekend, but they will be providing updates on their Facebook page - www.facebook.com/GeorgeandDragonHotelWycombe
