Firefighters had to break into a van on the M40 after a man was seen unresponsive in the front.
999 calls were made after a male adult was found "unresponsive in the front of a van on the hard shoulder" near junction 3 of the motorway, near Loudwater.
It happened just before 2pm on Monday, July 11.
Fire crews from Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield and one from Royal Berkshire were called to the scene along with South Central Ambulance Service and Thames Valley Police, as well as National Highways officers.
Firefighters used breaking in equipment to get inside the van and used an 'immediate emergency care' kit on him.
They left him in the care of the ambulance service and he was conscious and breathing by that point.
