A High Wycombe man accused of stealing a bike from the Eden Centre has claimed he had "no recollection" of taking it.
Marlon Green, aged 38, of no fixed abode, has denied stealing a bicycle worth £300 from outside the shopping centre on June 21.
At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates' Court on Monday, District Judge Arvind Sharma was told how there was CCTV image showing the theft.
Timothy Whillis, defending, told the court his client did not remember carrying out the act.
He said: "I showed him the video and he said that's me, but he has no recollection."

The court heard how Green, formerly of Station Close in High Wycombe, was suffering with mental health problems and was experiencing 'hallucinations' and 'hearing voices'.
District Judge Sharma was also informed that Green had 33 previous convictions, including a theft offence committed in May.
After denying the charge of theft, a trial date was set for October 27.
At the same hearing, Green admitted to breaching the terms of a community order which he was serving for a previous offence.
The court heard how he had 'sporadic' attendance at the required supervision sessions.
After admitting the breach, District Judge Sharma ruled that Green would be sentenced following the trial for the theft offence.
In the meantime, a medical report on Green's health will also be prepared for the court.
