An investigation has been launched after an aircraft reportedly crashed at Booker Air Park over the weekend.
An eyewitness told the Bucks Free Press an aircraft had to abort take-off at Wycombe Air Park in Booker on Saturday morning (July 9).
It reportedly happened at around 11am, forcing the air field to close and other aircraft waiting to take off had to return.
The Bucks Free Press contacted the Air Accidents Investigations Branch (AAIB), a government agency that investigates civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents.
A spokesperson for the AAIB said: “An accident involving a light aircraft at Wycombe Airpark on Saturday has been notified to the AAIB.
"An investigation has been launched and we have begun making enquiries.”
According to a check on the aircraft registration provided by the AAIB, the aircraft involved was a Piper PA-46, also known as a Malibu Mirage.
It has not been confirmed if anyone was injured in the incident, but the AAIB will provide a full report on what happened in due course.
