A car on fire on the M40 is causing major delays this afternoon [Friday].
Police are on the scene after the vehicle caught fire on the southbound exit of the motorway at Junction 9, near Aylesbury.
The sliproad was closed by the emergency services while the flames were extinguished and the vehicle was due to be recovered this afternoon.
Traffic on the motorway has been severely affected, with major delays on the southbound carriageway. Delays are also reported on the A34.
Police have urged motorists to avoid the area while recovery continues.
