Brain Tumour Research has announced plans for an 'innovative and ground-breaking proposal' in search of a cure for the devastating disease.
The charity, based in Milton Keynes, wishes to launch an additional Centre of Excellence in order to help the charity achieve its vision of finding a cure for all types of brain tumours.
Brain Tumour Research is investing an initial £2.5 million over five years thanks to the supporters and funding.

The new centre will join existing centres at Imperial College, the University of Plymouth and the Queen Mary University of London to become the latest Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.
BTR (Brain Tumour Research) funds sustainable research at dedicated centres across the UK in helping those who are currently battling the illness.
However, statistics show that fewer than 20 per cent of brain tumour patients survive beyond five years of their diagnosis.
Following this, they are encouraging the Government to invest more money (roughly £35m), to help find a cure through intense research.
Currently, brain tumours are the biggest cause of death for children and adults under 40 than any other cancer.
Sue Farrington Smith MBE, Chief Executive of Brain Tumour Research, said: “We are extremely proud to be in a position to launch this call for applications for a new Centre.
"Thanks to our supporters, the year to June 2021 saw us deliver our best financial year yet.
“We are now working towards our ambitious aim of funding seven dedicated Centres of Excellence which will help us in our vision to find a cure, improve treatment options and bring much-needed hope to so many.”
Dr Karen Noble, Director of Research, Policy and Innovation at Brain Tumour Research said: “Our centres support long-term research, building the critical mass of expertise needed to accelerate the journey to find a cure.”
