Little Chalfont office block could be demolished and replaced with flats

The three-storey Bourbon Court 1970s office block, which is behind the shops at Nightingales Corner in Little Chalfont, could be bulldozed in favour of a four-storey apartment building and a two-storey apartment building. 

The development would feature nine flats - six one-bed apartments and three two-beds - in a 'mews' style development. 

Seven of the flats would be in the four-storey block, while the other two would be in a separate two-storey building, which would be built where the current car parking spaces are. 

Nine replacement car parking spaces and one motorbike space is also planned as part of the development, as well as secure bike storage for four bikes. 

How the site looks currently

The site currently doesn't have any trees, and developers Lexham Properties say they will plant eight. 

The office building is currently occupied by an accountancy firm and the lease is expiring in September, planning documents say. 

Plans from 2019 to turn the existing office building into six flats were previously given the go-ahead, but now developers want to go further. 

Developers say the site is "in need of an update" to enhance the area. 

They wrote: "The existing site and building at Bourbon Court is in a moderate condition, however the rear of the buildings that comprise Nightingales Corner are less so.

"The organic extension and alterations to these buildings over the course of history has led to the slightly untidy and disorderly arrangement that can be seen today."
